Tips and Tricks for Watching

             Live Streaming Video on Ustream

   1.   On your computer go to http://www.sttimothy.com and click the Live Streaming Video link.

   2.    On your iPad/iPhone, download the free Ustream app.  Make sure WiFi is enabled and you are connected to a WiFi network.  Then use the Search option to look for either “sttimothylutheranchurchcharlestonwv” or “mikegreenewv”.  You should find the church channel.

   3.    If the channel is off-line, you can look under the Videos tab on the right to see previously-recorded events.  You can play them anytime.

   4.    If the channel is on-line and broadcasting, you will see live video in the main window.

   5.   If you’d like to increase the size of the picture, click the Fullscreen         button at the bottom-right of the video window.

   6.   If the video is jerky, right-click on the video window and choose “Settings”.  Adjust your Adobe Flash Player settings so Enable hardware acceleration is unchecked. Sometimes this helps.  If not, your Internet connection is probably the issue.

Another option would be to make sure you are using at least Internet Explorer 8 and go to get.adobe.com/flashplayer and update your flash player plugin.

   7.   If you would like to be able to Chat with other viewers during the broadcast, first register with Ustream for a free account.  Make sure you are signed-in on Ustream with your username and password before you start watching the channel.  Only logged-in users may participate in Chat.  Use the Chat tab to the right of the video to chat with other viewers.

   8.   You can use the Pop-out  buttons to open separate windows for the video and Chat.

   9.   Occasionally you may see advertisements pop-up and start playing, interrupting the video.  You should be able to close/stop them by clicking the small “x” button in their corner.
